The WEEE Directive was introduced in the European Union to underline:
"the objectives of the Community's environment policy, in particular, to preserve, protect and improve the quality of the environment, protect human health and utilise natural resources prudently and rationally"

At Klassic Computer Services we provide a customer focused service to ensure that the end of life equipment is re-used where ever possible whether it is as a whole unit, component or sent to an authorised treatment facility to recover core elements.

Our recycling service is designed to be modular to ensure that the customer has the ability to dictate the type of service they require:
  • Collections will be arranged using appropriate vehicles, who have been audited to ensure that they have the correct certification (Waste Transport Licence)
  • A Hazardous Waste Transfer Note will be left at site
  • The equipment will be evaluated to estimate the re-sale value
  • Asset Listing will be available
  • Any equipment deigned to be beyond economic repair or of no value will be broken down for component recovery
  • A Full report as well as certificate of destruction will be issued confirming all data carrying material has been sanitised or destroyed
WEEE Directive
The WEEE Directive covers the production, design of electronic and electrical equipment.  It is intended to set down protocols to cover the repair and re-use of equipment as well as recycling at end of life.  The Directive covers a wide range of products with a voltage of up to 1,000AC and 1,500DC.

Hazardous Waste Regulations
In July 2005 the Government implemented the New Hazardous Waste Regulations, which states that if you produce (discard) of 200kgs or more of hazardous waste in any one year period you must register with the Environment Agency.
